Privacy Policy Statement

Charles Brittain is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with my Terms and Conditions and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

1. Information I may collect from you

I may collect and process the following data about you:

Information that you provide by filling in forms on my site www.charlesbrittain.co.uk. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use my site, registering to become a member of my site, subscribing to any of my services (including, but not necessarily limited to, when making an investment through my site or seeking to raise capital for your business through my site), posting material on my site or requesting further information or services. I may also ask you for information when you report a problem with my site.

If you contact me, I may keep a record of that correspondence.

I may also ask you to complete surveys that I use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.

Details of transactions you carry out through my site and of the fulfilment of those transactions including, but not limited to, making an investment through my site or seeking to raise capital for your business through my site.

Details of your visits to my site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for my own purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

2. IP Addresses

I may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any specific individual.

3. Cookies

My website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of my website. This helps me to provide you with a good experience when you browse my website and also allows me to improve my site.

4. Where I store your personal data

The data that I collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (EEA). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for me or for one of my suppliers. Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the provision of my services, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. I will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

Where I have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of my site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. I ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Although I will do my best to protect your personal data, I cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. If you are an existing member, I will typically only contact you by electronic means (e-mail or SMS) with information about services similar to those which you have previously used or expressed an interest in through me or any of the brands I’ve previously reached out to you from. If you are a new customer, and where I permit selected third parties to use your data, I (or they) will contact you by electronic means only as you have consented to this by submitting your details.

I do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to my advertisers, but I may provide them with aggregate information about my users (for example, I may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). I may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in Greater Manchester). I may make use of the personal data I have collected from you to enable me to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.

6. Disclosure of your information

I may disclose your personal information to any member of my group, which means my subsidiaries, any ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.

I may disclose your personal information to third parties:

In connection with a transaction conducted through my site.
In the course of that third party or third parties providing services to me however I will take reasonable precautions to ensure that such third parties are obliged to keep your personal data confidential.

I may do so in order to resolve queries in the future and/or for the purpose of ensuring security, staff training and complying with my legal and/or regulatory responsibilities.

With regard to e-mail communications you should note that, as e-mails are not encrypted (and may therefore be intercepted by third parties) and as the identity of the sender cannot be confirmed, you must not provide your security details by e-mail. You should be aware that sending any personal information to me by e-mail is done so at your own risk.

8. Your rights

You have the right to ask me not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. I will usually inform you if I intend to use your data for such purposes or if I intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data or emailing to express that this is your choice. Any changes I may make to my privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, you will be notified by e-mail.
